Default The Duke Shops are open! .

LAST Friday evening saw the long-awaited opening of the newest commercial centre, The Duke Shops, El Duque, and what an opening it was!
The attention to detail, and the research involved in hosting a Duke and Duchess event, was second to none, from start to finish. As people walked the red carpet, flames ignited above their heads. On entering, they were greeted by two ladies, dressed in full costume, who took their name, and their attendance was announced, further on in the proceedings.
Walking further into the shopping centre, one of the many Dukes showed people to the photo booth, where they could have their photographs taken.
There was a stage at either end of the centre, each with LED screens, full lighting etc. There was entertainment throughout the evening, from classical music to a band, and lots in between. Aerial Silk performers and stilt walkers, in full Duke and Duchess costumes, paraded around all evening.
There was plenty to eat and drink, with a wide selection of food available, either at one of the many food tables, or on the trays that were brought round by the waiting staff. The catering was provided by Gourmetland Catering and Events.
Just before the centre was officially opened, and the general public allowed in, there was a procession from one end to the other. Left to right, Lorenzo Reveron, Jorge Rodiguez and Carols Garcia, owners of The Duke Shopping Centre, Jose Miguel Rodriguez Fraga, Mayor of Adeje, and Albertio Bernabe, adviser of tourism to Tenerife, took to the stage, cut the ribbon and officially opened the centre.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the opening of The Duke Shopping Centre in El Duque. It was a great start to what will be a great place, not only for shopping in some of the first-ever stores in Tenerife, but also for meeting people for something to eat, on the open-top terrace.
